With growth comes responsibility.

When I started Joules in 1989, the team was made up of a group of people I could count on one hand. We’d sell joyful, colourful clothing at country and equestrian events, and our impact was a fraction of what it is today. Joules is now a true multi-channel global business that employs over 1500 people.

The impact we’re all having on the environment and our planet is becoming more and more evident and we know sustainability needs to be at the forefront of everything we do.

We have a duty to act responsibly.

As a brand we have deep rural roots. We were established in the fields of Great Britain and our head office is on the outskirts of Market Harborough, the small town in which I have lived my whole life. To say the countryside is dear to me, is an understatement. We look to its farmland, rivers, woods and meadows for inspiration – it’s important for all our wellbeing and no matter how much time we all get to spend in it, we aim to brighten our customers lives with its joy.

Therefore, we need to place even more focus on doing the right thing for the future – to ensure the countryside we love remains for future generations. Our teams are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we make the shift to more sustainable materials and have responsible solutions in all areas of our business. We have some ambitious targets, and whilst we understand that a lot of these won’t be met overnight, we are looking forward to sharing our progress with you.
